    Interstice

Humans tend to place their faith in solidified entities, uniform time, and concrete reality, instinctively embracing certainty while evading chaos. Yet the world in a broader sense may reside precisely within the interstices: between time and space, the virtual and the real, the potential and the predetermined.

There is no absolute, immutable reality in this world, nor any entirely closed boundary. All visible space, time, and form emerge from the gaps, in-betweenness, and threshold states where phenomena interact. Titled "間Interstice", the exhibition defines its core concept through the interstice: a gap is not void or empty, but the primordial field from which all phenomena are generated, manifested, transformed, and coexistent.

"Jiān" accommodates three dimensions: between spaces, between temporal moments, and between forms. It serves as a threshold zone between the observer and the observed, chaos and order, latent potentiality and established reality. Form and order emerge from the interstices of spacetime and the intervals of observation. "Jiān" is the origin of becoming and a collective of possibilities. It is also the central proposition questioned by the three series of works—"Matrix Fields", "Velocity Parallax", and "Point Phenomenon": the concrete forms we perceive in this world may merely be temporary orders briefly manifested within infinite interstices.
