INTRODUCTION:

 

Mentor Chen Ronghui will combine the professional knowledge he learned in Yale university with his artistic creation experience in the course, and also analyze the works of Walker Evans, Phillip Lorca-diCorcia, An-My Le, Richard Mosse and other artists that related with this certain field, for improving the students' understanding of non-fiction photography aesthetics. In addition, there is a outside shooting activities that mentor will guide and practice the skills with the students,  which could help the students' taking control of the photography medium.

Ronghui Chen

Yale MFA Photography 2021

Chen Ronghui is a Chinese photographer currently based in Shanghai and New Haven. His work focuses on different dimensions of China’s urbanization and industrialization. He has published two photobooks, Freezing Land, and Land of Ambitions, and exhibited both in China and internationally. He has won a number of awards including the World Press Photo; BarTur Photo Award; Three Shadows Photography Award & AlPA special prize and Hou Dengke Documentary Photography.
