Artist Talk: From Portraiture to Buddhist Statues

This exhibition showcased works by the photographer Tseng Miin-Shyong. During the second day of the opening, Tseng provided an on-site introduction to his own works and shared his process with an audience while signing copies of his new book.
In 2019, Tseng Miin-Shyong luckily met the Taiwan collector, great tertön Chiang, Minchi, and been authorized to take pictures for his Tibetan antiques. Tseng chooses some antiques from thousands of collections and tarted his sooting plan for one year. The photos are now edited and published, this series of work has been named Selfless Terma Treasures - Tibetan Cultural Relic Photography Exhibition. These photographs are not only documentation of antiques. The artist used his own perspective to reconstructed the concept of history; the concept fo objects given these works unique portrait personality and artistic feelings.
